Cow race – Khmer Cultural Festival highlight

Thousands of Khmer ethnic minority people, nuns and monks joined the four-day Khmer Cultural Festival promoting solidarity among the 54 ethnic minority groups and special cultural identities in Vietnam.

Monk Chau So Phol from Day Tuot pagoda in Vinh Trung village, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province, said the living standards of the Khmer people have been improved thanks to assistance from the Party and State and everyone is very happy to take part in the festival.

A wide range of activities are scheduled during the festival which features the unique Khmer culture in harmony with political, economic and social development.

The cow race is a favourite sport of the southern ethnic Khmers.
